Different kinds of Mold :

Index 1 | 2 | 3

Molds are commonly found in homes and buildings. This is because mold can grow anywhere as long as there is moisture. The most common indoor molds are Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Penicillium and Alternaria. Stachybotrys chartarum may not be as common as the aforementioned four, but it is not rare. This greenish-black mold grows on surfaces with low nitrogen, high cellulose content. These include paper, dust, lint, fiberboard and gypsum board.

Different kinds of Mold

It is not necessary for a homeowner to know what type of mold is present in the home. All types of mold should be given the same treatment, with regards to removal and potential health risks involved. When there is a mold problem, a homeowner should contact a professional right away.
