Aspergillus kanagawaensis

A - B - C - D - E - Next

Aspergillus kanagawaensis is another type of aspergillus mold that can be found in outdoor environments. It has been isolated from the soils in the conifer-hardwood forest of Wisconsin, particularly growing in hemlock and jack pines, with colonies exhibiting pinkish-tan colored conidia and vesicles that have one series of sterigmata.

Aspergillus kanagawaensis

Aspergillus kanagawaensis is considered allergenic, which means exposure to this type of mold can actually induce hypersensitivity to some individuals, especially those people who have weakened immune systems such as infants, children, elderly and people with certain illnesses. However, it should be taken into account that A. kanagawaensis is not considered hazardous. In fact, there is still no evidence of toxic or invasive diseases associated with this type of aspergillus mold.
