Aspergillus caespitosus

A - B - C - D - E - Next

The mold Aspergillus caespitosus is not usually found indoors. It has been predominantly isolated from soils, but has also been separated from sugarcane bagasse - a fibrous matter that remains after stalks of sugarcane or sorghum are crushed to extract their juice. Similar to other molds, such a fungus thrives in oxygen-rich environments.

Aspergillus caespitosus

Considered to be allergenic, Aspergillus caespitosus is not seen as hazardous compared to other kinds of molds. However, it is vital to take certain precautions when handling this mold as it is possible to stimulate hypersensitivity to some people, especially those who have weakened immune system. To this date, there have been no reported cases of toxic or invasive diseases associated with this type of aspergillus mold.
