Found to be allergenic, Aspergillus caesiellus is also discovered to be occasionally pathogenic. It has also been noted to produce a toxin referred to as "petulin," which may be associated with certain kinds of diseases in humans as well as other animals. Even though there are no reported cases of severe toxic or invasive diseases associated with this aspergillus mold, a recent house investigation has shown that there are respiratory complaints related to this mold. Hence, mold experts advise individuals to be careful in dealing with this type of mold.
