Aspergillus auricomus

A - B - C - D - E - Next

Aspergillus auricomus is a distinctive type of aspergillus mold that was originally isolated from an aqueous solution of potassium iodide. It has also been isolated from the cotton seeds found in Arizona. Such mold commonly thrives outdoors and is reported to be allergenic.

Aspergillus auricomus
While Aspergillus auricomus is generally considered allergenic, there have been no documented health concerns associated with this type of mold. Still, as extensive tests have not yet been performed in this type of mold, people, particularly children and those with poor immune systems, are advised to avoid exposing themselves to this mold so as to prevent the occurrence of allergic disorders. Nevertheless, handling of such mold should be left to the hands of experts to ensure safety.
